## Lesson Plans for October 30-November 3, 2017

** TEKS for the Week: ** 8.4A-C, 8.5A, 8.5B, 8.5E, 8.5F, 8.5H, 8.5I

Monday: Finding SLOPE from two points. HOMEWORK- worksheet

Tuesday: Finding SLOPE from a table of values. HOMEWORK- worksheet

Wednesday: EARLY RELEASE; Graphing Linear Proportional VS Linear Non-Proportional discrete functions; Trick-or-Treating example with multiple representations (verbal, tabular, graphical, and algebraic). HOMEWORK- Study for SLOPE Quiz

Thursday: SLOPE QUIZ; Students will represent linear proportional situations using multiple representations. Students will write corresponding direct variation equation (y = kx), make tables and draw graphs. Students will identify the unit rate as the slope of the line and the constant of variation as well. Connect this to the vocabulary “y varies directly with the x”.

Friday: Students will work in groups to write three direct variation situations. For each, identify the constant of variation, write the equation in the form of y=kx, make an x/y table, and graph the relationship.

## Lesson Plans for October 23-27, 2017

** TEKS for the Week: ** 8.4A-C, 8.5A, 8.5B, 8.5F, 8.5H, 8.5I, 8.8A-C

** Monday: **Two-Step Inequalities;

**HOMEWORK-**Punchline worksheet

** Tuesday: ** Solving Inequalities with variables on both sides

** Wednesday: **Writing Inequalities with variables on both sides

* Thursday: *Students will take a quiz over graphing inequalities. Students will use similar right triangles to determine the slope of a line using rise/run (AKA change in y/change in x, vertical change/horizontal change),and identify that the slope is the same for any two points on the same line.

**HOMEWORK**– 1) Watch the video “3 Ways to Find SLOPE” and complete the foldable for your notebook as you go.

** Friday: **Task card activity- how to find slope from tables and graphs.

**NO HOMEWORK**
