Thursday: Geometric transformations that preserve congruence- Translations with algebraic representations; HOMEWORK- worksheet

Friday: Geometric transformations that preserve congruence- Rotations transparency activity to determine the algebraic representation; HOMEWORK- None

TEKS for the WEEK: 8.5A, 8.5B, 8.5C, 8.5E, 8.5F, 8.5H 

Monday: Direct variation (proportional linear situations); Identify the unit rate as the slope of the line (AKA the constant of variation), connect this to the vocabulary “y varies directly with the x”, and write direct variation equations from tables and verbal descriptions; HOMEWORK- NONE

Tuesday: Proportional VS Non-Proportional – Identify proportional or non-proportional from tables, verbal descriptions, equations and graphs; Identify graphs, tables and equations that represent non-linear situations;  HOMEWORK- Homework 11 #1-6 on front and #1-6 on back

Wednesday: Direct Variation Equations; HOMEWORK- Direct Variation Word Problem Worksheet 

Thursday: Solving Direct Variation Problems using Proportions;  HOMEWORK- work the Direct Variation Word Problem worksheet again using proportions

Friday: Proportional or Non-Proportional: That is the Question!; NO HOMEWORK

Lesson Plans for November 4-8, 2019

TEKS for the Week: 8.8A, 8.8B, 8.8C, 8.4A, 8.8B, 8.4C

Monday:  Take notes over writing inequalities and then practice in groups; HOMEWORK – none; Good luck to our girls’ basketball teams!

Tuesday:  Writing inequalities- students will finish working in groups to write inequalities and check it on Google Classroom. Students will then complete the homework assignment; HOMEWORK- Homework 15 #1-16 (write the inequalities ONLY, do NOT solve them)

Wednesday: QUIZ over solving and graphing inequalities; Students will complete a worksheet over writing equations with variables on both sides of the equation.  Students will check their solutions on the worked out copy posted in google classroom.  HOMEWORK- finish the worksheet if not finished in class.

Thursday: Watch a video and take notes over graphing in a coordinate plane. Watch two videos and take notes over FINDING SLOPE from a graph, table and two points.  1st video link: 3 Ways to Find Slope;  2nd video link : Finding Slope HOMEWORK- finish the videos and notes if not finished in class.

Friday: We will check the class work from Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Then we will practice finding slope all three ways; HOMEWORK– if not completed in class.
